NSIC has established Software Technology cum Business Parks at New Delhi and Chennai for providing space to small and medium enterprises in software development and to IT/ITES/MSME units not registered with STPI or falling under the definition of MSME.

NSIC Software Technology cum Business Parks, New Delhi is located in a prime location at Okhla Industrial Area adjacent to NSIC Bhawan with a total built up area of approx. 53,000 sq.ft. NSIC STBP, Chennai is located at Guindy Industrial Estate with a total built area of 48,000 Sq. Ft.

Background

With the globalization of Indian economy, the traditional sectors as well as hi-tech areas are in immediate need of innovations and fresh technological inputs. Recognizing the importance of Information Technology, NSIC established its first Software Technology Park at Okhla in 1995. Based on the experience gained, a Technology Business Incubator in IT sector is being established at Okhla.

Objectives

Creating sustainable entrepreneurship development in the area of ICT especially for first generation entrepreneurs. Nurturing innovative ideas to commercially viable business propositions. Encouraging commercialization of R&D outputs into commercial ventures. Harnessing the expertise of NSIC in extending hand-holding of start-up companies to become successful SSI enterprises.

Services Provided

1. Ready to move in Built-up Space, Standard Computer Hardware facilities, Access to Software Library, Internet and Business Centre facilities.
2. Preliminary Level Training/Counseling, Facilitation in fine-tuning business plans, Specialized training, Mentoring Services, Market exposure.
3. Advanced level: Facilitating seed finance/venture capital, Market Survey, Support in legal formalities, Documentation support.
4. Sourcing of business partners, J.V./technology transfer, Legal and statutory formalities for launch of enterprise.

Incubation Period

The incubation period is kept at maximum of 12 months. In deserving cases, the time may be extended maximum to another 6 months in intervals of 3 months each.
