The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today launched a historic support and outreach programme for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. As part of this programme, the Prime Minister unveiled12 key initiatives which will help the growth, expansion and facilitation of MSMEs across the country. They are: 59 minute loan portal to enable easy access to credit for MSMEs, Rebate in interest rate, Cash flow certainty, Technology Upgradation, Mandatory 25 percent procurement from MSMEs by CPSEs, Out of 25 percent 3 percent reserved for women entrepreneurs, Mandatory Membership of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) for CPSEs to facilitate online procurement of common use goods and services, Formation of MSME pharma clusters, One annual return for MSMEs, Relaxation in environmental clearances, Inspections of factories in the MSME sector will be sanctioned only through a computerised random allotment and Ordinance for simplifying procedures for minor offences under Companies Act
NSIC and Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd has signed the MOU agreement on 30th October 2018 to provide credit facilitation for sustainable development of MSMEs.The MOU aims at facilitating credit to MSMEs in terms of their Loan requirements and encourages them for meeting emerging global challenges. The MOU was signed by Sh.Gaurang Dixit Chief General Manager (Finance) of NSIC and Sh.Shyam Maheshwari Regional Business Manager (North) of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd.
NSIC Technical Services Centre, Howrah has commenced six weeks residential Entrepreneurship Development Training Program (EDP) for 29 Trainees from Bangladesh on 31st October, 2018. The programme intend to provide an opportunity to the participants to acquire skill on basic technical trades and gain exposure in all areas of business operation such as business skill development, identification of appropriate technology, hands on experience on working projects like soya milk extraction, bakery, socks knitting, fashion designing etc. including commercial aspects of business etc.
On the occasion of “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas“ Shri Sudhir Garg, CMD, The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.-NSIC interacted with the students (ongoing / passed out) Trainees participating in the Essay/Quiz /Debate competition being held at NSIC-Technical Service Centres (Okhla) on the topic “ideas for taking benefits of Technology to address challenges for masses in rural areas” from the students. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sudhir Garg, CMD, NSIC motivated the students to regularly enhance their skills and set up their own units and become entrepreneurs.

During the event Shri Giriraj Singh, Hon'ble Minister for MSME(I/C) called for suggestions/ ideas from students getting trained in the 8 Technical Services Centers of NSIC through video conferencing.
MOU has been signed between NSIC Ltd. and M/s. My Home industries Private Limited, for supply of Cement of various grades of “Maha Cement” brand (one of the leading cement brand in Southern India) to the MSME units. The MOU was signed by Sh. K. Srinivas, Zonal Head, South II, NSIC Ltd., Hyderabad and Shri K. Vijay Vardhan Rao, President (Marketing), M/s. My Home industries Private Limited at their registered office at Madhapur, Hyderabad on 29/10/2018.
Shri Sudhir Garg, CMD, NSIC alongwith all the officers and employees of the corporation administered "Integrity Pledge for Citizens" and "Integrity Pledge for Organisations" today on the occasion of "Vigilance Awareness Week" being observed in NSIC from 29th Oct 2018 to 3rd Nov, 2018. This year the theme of observing vigilance awareness week is 'Eradicating Corruption -Build a New India'. During the week, various activities like display of banners, deliverance of lectures, workshops , essay writing, the creation of hyperlink for integrity pledges on corporation’s website etc, installation of Suggestion Box, schedule of preventive vigilance inspection across the country are being undertaken.
Mr. Sunil Tyagi, GM (Intl. Co-op), represented The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.-NSIC in the 8th European Union Congress on SMEs held in Poland from October 16-19, 2018. He was accompanying the official delegation led by JS(SME) to the said event. He also addressed the participants from Poland and other countries on NSIC's activities for promotion of MSMEs in India and the potential for cooperation in MSME Sector.
The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.- NSIC organized a National SC/ST Hub conclave at Imphal, Manipur on 20.10.2018. Hon’ble Dr. Najma A. Heptulla, Governor of Manipur was the Chief Guest. Chief Minister of Manipur Hon’ble Sh. Nongthombam Biren Singh was the Special Guest of Honour and Sh. N. Kayiisi, Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs was the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries present on the Dias were Sh. L. Haokip Director SME, Ministry of MSME ,Sh. P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC, Sh. Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal, National working President-Forum of SC ST Legislature & Parliamentarians, and Sh. K.S. Siddique, Zonal General Manager, NSIC (North East region). A Presentation was given by Sh. L. Haokip Director SME, Ministry of MSME highlighting the various initiatives taken by Ministry of MSME. A NSSH film in regional language was then played. A session on Central/State Govt. schemes was chaired by Sh. L. Haokip, Director SME in which officials of KVIC, MSME-DI, Imphal, IIM Vishakhapatnam, NEDFI, NERCOM were present.This session focused on various Govt. initiatives such as CGTMSE, MAS, CLCSS etc. Another session with procurement agencies and Banks was held which was chaired by Sh. P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC. Officials of various Banks and CRPF, 2nd command Assam Riffle, NHPC shared their views during the session.Senior officers from Govt. of Manipur were also present during the event. The program was a great success and attended by more than 590 SC-ST participants.
During his visit to NSIC Branch Office, Puducherry on 20.10.2018, Shri Sudhir Garg, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.-NSIC also visited "Shri Arohan", a manufacturing unit of "100% organic Cotton Fabric" by green technology (Solar Power).
